The QAnon Shaman Just Won His Battle to Get Organic Food in Jail

UPDATE 2/3 4:11 ET p.m.: A federal judge in Washington, D.C., granted an emergency request from “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley’s lawyer that he begin receiving organic food in jail.

In a brief hearing Wednesday, Chansley told the judge that his religious beliefs require him to eat only organic food. Chansley and his legal team told the judge that appropriate food should be labeled “USDA Organic” and would be available at most grocery stores.

The judge asked whether this was a sincere religious belief. Chansley’s lawyer said it was.

‘Mek Summat’ at Saltaire art and food fair this Bank Holiday

Crafty locals are being encouraged to “Mek Summat” this Bank Holiday Monday in a call to get creative whatever your age.

The city of Modesto’s councilmembers voted Tuesday to approve an urgency ordinance that will limit the fees food delivery companies can charge business owners.

Restaurants argue that they have been paying fees of up to 30% to delivery companies like DoorDash and Grubhub. Part of the fees includes a California driver benefits fee that goes toward the delivery person’s health care and insurance benefits.

The fee for drivers’ benefits was approved by voters in November 2020 with Proposition 22.

The new ordinance, which city spokesperson Thomas Reeves said would be temporary, will limit the fees to 15%.
