Bobby Flay isn’t leaving Food Network after all

Bobby Flay is going to stay. 

The celebrity chef will re-sign with Food Network, according to Variety, following a report last month that Flay was prepared to leave his longtime employer when his contract ran out at the end of the year.

The exact terms of Flay’s new contract have not been released, but he is renewing his deal for another three years.

“I have an amazing family at Food Network and a great foundation. And I have a sizable library of food television here,” Flay told Variety. “I’m a lucky person. I grew up in a time when this country finally decided that food was important.”

The New York-born Flay, 56, has been with Food Network for 27 years, notably hosting the “Beat Bobby Flay” competitive cooking series, among other programming.

Worst Cooks in America Season 23 Premiere Date Anne Burrell Food Network Deal

Cooking fires make Thanksgiving dangerous, Augusta rescuers warn

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – With so much cooking going on during Thanksgiving, it’s the most dangerous day of the year when it comes to cooking fires. And it’s also likely to affect your utility bills.

Since 2018, Augusta firefighters have responded to four fire calls on Thanksgiving. Three of those responses were cooking-related.

“It is well-known that unattended cooking is the leading cause of fires during Thanksgiving, so there’s no better time to focus on safety,” said Fire Chief/EMA Director Antonio Burden. “What we’re asking people to do is be alert so they can prevent these potential risks from becoming something more dangerous.”

One of the most useful tips from firefighters is that if you have to leave the cooking area, take a large spoon or potholder as a reminder.
