Dan Levy to Host Cooking Show The Big Brunch for HBO Max

Get your spatulas ready: Dan Levy will be hosting a new cooking competition series on HBO Max. Levy, known for his award-winning performance in Schitt’s Creek, has developed the newest installment into food competition which will be called The Big Brunch. The new show will be produced by Chef’s Table and Sex, Love & Goop‘s Boardwalk Pictures. Along with hosting and creating the new series, Levy will serve as executive producer alongside Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma, and Faye Stapleton.

The show, which is set to come out next year, will follow undiscovered chefs from across the country as they compete to present fresh and exciting ideas to everyone’s favorite 11 AM – 3 PM meal: brunch! Local kids sharpen skills through Food Truck Challenge

Oct. 31—NEW ALBANY — A recent competition allowed local kids to learn the basics of building a business as they created their own food truck concepts.

The MESA KIDS Cooking School in downtown New Albany recently wrapped up its first Food Truck Challenge.

The 13-session business program launched in early September, and it allowed students to build their own concepts and plans for a food truck. Students not only developed the menu and cooked the food, but they also learned other entrepreneurial skills such as marketing and branding.

The cooking school officially announced the winners of the competition this week. Charlestown High School Senior Buddy Wixon, 18, took first place in the competition for his “Bearded Barbecue” concept.

By winning first place, Wixon will receive a free booth for one year at the New Albany Farmers Market.

Wixon’s concept includes brisket, ribs and pulled pork, and he serves his sandwiches

The outbreak linked to onions imported from Chihuahua, Mexico has led to more than 600 illnesses, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Experts in Canada say although an outbreak caused by onions may be shocking to some, salmonella can affect many kinds of foods.
