Waltham’s ‘In A Pickle’ Restaurant Featured On Cooking Channel

WALTHAM, MA — Moody Street’s “In A Pickle” restaurant made national TV Wednesday night — again. The Cooking Channel’s show “Food Paradise Extreme Eats” featured the local breakfast joint and a mountain of a pink concoction that might involve pancakes in episode 11 of its season 13

Owner Tim Burke said the show actually came to film in a day some two years ago. The show’s producers found In A Pickle on Instagram and set up some time for filming.

“The filming was pretty intense,” said Burke. “Not as intense as when we did Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, because that was three days, but there was a lot to this shoot.”

Staff and the film crew started around 8 a.m. and didn’t finish until closing time that evening.

“The hardest part was the waiting -we filmed in October 2018,” he said.

Food Paradise was first being shown on The Travel Channel and that’s were he thought it was going to be aired, but in the time we shot and air date, the show was sold to The Cooking Channel.

The Cooking Channel wanted to restart the series, so it took some time to get to Season 13 Episode 11, said Burke.

In the end, he said he was happy with the way it came out.

“The production crew, my staff and the customers were all very professional and great to work with,” Burke told Patch. “I’m glad that it finally aired because I was getting worried for a little bit.”

This isn’t the first time the bright lights have come to this restaurant. Among the shows, about nine years ago the restaurant was featured on “Phantom Gourtmet,” and then last year it was featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”
