Love spicy food? If you think everything tastes better with a few chili peppers or a dash of hot sauce, head over to TikTok, where creative chefs are cooking up recipes that pack some serious heat. From chili pepper-packed pasta to fiery fried chicken, here are five of the best recipes for spicy food lovers on TikTok

1. Spicy vegan enoki mushroom

This spicy vegan enoki mushroom dish is so easy to make! Just grab a bag of enoki, cut about an inch from the bottom of the mushrooms, and discard the bottom section. Then toss the enoki in a pan on high heat with a splash of oil. Add in garlic, chopped Vietnamese red peppers (use one pepper for a milder dish or three for maximum spiciness), pepper paste, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil and black pepper. Once the mushroom is cooked through, top it with sesame seeds and enjoy!

2. Nashville hot chicken

This classic fried chicken dish may have originated in Tennessee, but it’s perfect for spicy food lovers everywhere! To make it, mix a brine out of buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika and a generous helping of hot sauce. Submerge your chicken in the brine, and refrigerate for 24 hours. Then coat the chicken in a mixture of flour, salt, black pepper and paprika, and fry it. Finally, enjoy the fried chicken with a sauce made of cayenne pepper, chili powder, pepper and paprika

3. Spicy ‘devil’ cheese toast

This spicy toast makes a great breakfast or anytime snack. Just marinate some mozzarella cheese in olive oil, Korean chili flakes, chopped garlic and Thai chili pepper. Then toast a piece of bread in butter, and spread on the spicy mozzarella cheese. For a bit of extra flavor, drizzle the toast with some of the marinade and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

4. Spicy vegan cucumber salad

This vegan salad is so refreshing and only takes 10 minutes to make. Mix together spicy garlic chili paste, black vinegar, vegetarian oyster sauce, sugar, sesame seeds, green onion and cilantro. Then use the flat side of a knife to smash a cucumber, and then cut it into bite-sized pieces. Toss the cucumber pieces in a bowl, and drizzle with the spicy sauce.

5. Spicy rotini pasta

This spicy rotini pasta dish is so hearty! To make it, sauté onions and garlic in a pan. Then add tomato paste and a generous helping of red chili flakes. Mix everything together, then add heavy cream, cooked rotini pasta, and pasta water. Serve the pasta with parmesan, fresh basil and, of course, more chili flakes for an extra spicy kick.
