Is the Sacramento County Fair back in 2022? What to know

The Sacramento County Fair is back after two years of pandemic delays.

With a “banding together” theme, the Sacramento County Fair will return to Sacramento’s Cal Expo Memorial Day weekend, May 26 to May 30 with food and entertainment.

The Sacramento County Fair was established in 1937, according to its website. And since then, the family-friendly event — filled with competitions, agriculture displays, activities, food and more — traditionally takes place on Memorial Day weekend.

Sacramento County Fair details

Here’s what you need to know about the May fair, including admission times, ticket prices and COVID-19 policy, according to the Sacramento County Fair and Cal Expo’s website:

ADDRESS: 1600 Exposition Blvd., Sacramento

DATES AND TIMES

Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29: 10 a.m to 10 p.m.

Monday, May 30: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Patrons who show proof of a valid military I.D. enter the fair for free on Monday, May 30, according to the Sacramento County Fair’s website.

TICKET PRICES

Patrons 12 and under can enter the fair for free. The fair has not posted prices for those 13 and up yet. You can check the Sacramento County Fair page on Cal Expo’s website for updates on ticket prices.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES

The Sacramento County Fair will follow the California Department of Public Health and Sacramento County COVID-19 guidelines.

Both proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test and masks are recommended but not required, according to Cal Expo’s Sacramento County Fair page. The requirements could change as the the fair’s open date moves closer.
